Stand With Us. Walk With Us.

Earlier this year, I was gratified to be asked to join the board of directors of Episcopal Response to AIDS (ERA). Through New York's annual AIDS Walk, ERA raises funds for programs and ministries at Episcopal parishes and communities throughout the New York metropolitan area for people with HIV/AIDS and their families.

ERA sponsored programs include the only weekend AIDS program in Manhattan run by St. Luke in the Fields Church -- a weekly spiritual support group for people with AIDS in upstate New York run by the monks at Holy Cross Monastery -- a joint program on Long Island that helps poor people affected by AIDS buy toiletries and other necessities that food stamps and other benefits don't cover -- among many others.

Great programs and great work done by people whose faith leads them to be of service to people with AIDS and HIV.

In addition to these ERA funded programs, a portion of the funds ERA raises remains with GMHC to support their excellent HIV and AIDS education, prevention, treatment and advocacy programs.

I hope you'll considering joining us on Sunday, May 17th for AIDS Walk NY. There's still time to register at http://www.erany.org.

Or sponsor us by going to:

It's a tough year for efforts such as these, so pray for generous hearts -- and sunny weather next Sunday!

In peace,

Mark+
